canon 630 scanner install on debian

I wanted to use my canon canoscan630ui on my linux box, which runs debian testing. Here is how I made it:

1. search for the model name on debian package search
2. installed as root:
   apt-get install libsane xsane gimp
3. added myself to the scanner group:
   adduser pauls scanner
   
4. started the image editor gimp, then fetched the image via (in Swedish): arkiv/xsane/canon630u:libusb....
5. It took a few seconds until it woke up, but then, voila!
